To Dutch students in South Africa

As you will have heard the European Union will close its borders for all non-essential travel due to COVID-19 (coronavirus). EU citizens however can return home. We are sure you are in touch with your university in the Netherlands about this and they might have advised or instructed you to come home.

With the rapidly changing developments and while commercial flights are still operational between South Africa and the Netherlands it seems best to advise you to return home to the Netherlands.

For the latest news with regards to COVID-19, keep following the most up to date travel advice of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and regularly check information updates from the South African government.

Do not forget to inform your university of your actions. If you know other students from the Netherlands, please pass them this message.
