For the Orange Tulip Scholarship Programme in South Africa, The Hague University of Applied Sciences offers 1 Orange Tulip Scholarships for its Bachelor's programme.

Scholarship details

1. Eligibility and Qualification: 

  • The student must possess the citizenship of a non-EU/EEA state or Switzerland.
  • The student is applying for a full-time bachelor study.
  • The student is currently living outside the EU/EEA or Switzerland.
  • The student has never studied at an educational institution in the Netherlands before.
  • The student is enrolling at THUAS for the first time.
  • The student has never applied for this scholarship before.
  • The student covers the institutional tuition fee rate.
  • The student is conditionally accepted to the study programme before May 1st, 2020.

2. Essay Requirements, Assessment & Criteria:

Student are requested to produce a written essay on the topic of Sustainable Development, which will be evaluated on the basis of the content, structure, language, authenticity and whether the essay has met the required objective. Further essay instructions, as well as the Essay Assignment 2020 can be retrieved in the attachments of this e-mail. All written essays must be submitted via this online application form.

If the produced essay is deemed incomplete, the student will be informed to correct whatever is necessary. The student will have only one chance to correct his or her essay.  

Despite the application form belonging to Holland Scholarship, it counts for one unified application system together with OTS. In that respect, please go ahead and complete the Holland Application form, even if the student is applying for OTS.

A cover letter/motivation letter is not required from the student.

6. Application Deadline & Dates

The application panel will close on May 1st, 2020 at 17:00/5:00PM (Amsterdam time).  All student are required to have completed their applications by this date; meaning to be conditionally accepted to a study programme, to have the essay assignment submitted and completed by May 1st, 2020.  

At the beginning of June 2020, the selection commission will join to evaluated the written essays. The official results of the selection will be released mid-June 2020. All participants will then be informed by email whether they have won the scholarship prize.
