The 11 Hour Train Journey

Twas a good day.

So i had to travel from Groningen to the Hague, last weekend, and being Indian, i went and bought the ticket the day before.

CAUTION: Do not buy your ticket on the day before; buy it on the day of travel.

So, i got on the train, listened to OneRepublic, gazed out of the window. the ticket collector comes,i give him the ticket, and he tells me that the ticket is expired. so he tells me,” you have to get off at the next station, and buy a ticket from there.”

I get off at the next station; there’s no ticket counter.

What do I do?

I call my dad, of course. He tells me to travel to the next big station and buy a ticket from there.

The problem is, the next big station?

Its four stops away.

so, i had to catch 4 different trains, because the ticket collector kept saying i had to get off at the next station.

have i mentioned that i got up at five in the morning that day to catch the first train?

Shout out to the collectors though, they were really nice.

I finally get to Hague, eat as much as i can, and run into the first bus i see, and it takes me in the opposite direction of where i want to go. i take another bus, an hour later i arrive.

5 Hours later, i was on a train again, going back to Groningen, and this time, through my own fault, i forgot to take a ticket.

weirdly though, this time, nobody checked my ticket(the one i didn't have) this time.
